What Kiko does

Kiko is a Chrome extension that detects when you accidentally type in the wrong keyboard layout (Hebrew vs. English) and offers to correct it.

Data we collect — and don't collect

Kiko does not collect, transmit, or store any of your text, browsing activity, or personal data on external servers.

There is exactly one thing Kiko ever sends anywhere, and only if you subscribe: your licence key. See "Licence checks" below.

Specifically:

This website

Everything above is about the Kiko extension, and it is unconditional: nothing you type is collected, transmitted, or stored, whether you pay for Kiko or not.

This website is a separate thing, and it does use Google Analytics. It records which page you landed on, which language version you read, how far down the page you scrolled, and whether you clicked "Add to Chrome" — so we can tell whether the site is any use. It does not know who you are, and it has no access to anything you type anywhere. If you would rather not be counted, any content blocker will stop it, and the extension works exactly the same either way.

Permissions used

Kiko does not request access to your tabs, browsing history, clipboard (except to copy converted text when you explicitly click "Copy"), or any other sensitive data.

Licence checks

If you subscribe, Kiko stores your licence key on your device and sends it to Lemon Squeezy — our payment provider — to confirm the subscription is active. That request contains the licence key and an anonymous instance identifier. Nothing else: no text you have typed, no page content, no browsing history.

It happens at most once a day, and if the check cannot be reached your subscription keeps working for seven days so an outage never locks you out.

During the free trial, and if you never subscribe, Kiko makes no network requests at all. With no licence key stored there is nothing to check, and the code path is never entered.

Third parties

Kiko shares no data with any third parties for advertising or analytics. There are no analytics services, no ad networks, and no tracking of any kind. The only external service Kiko ever contacts is Lemon Squeezy, and only to validate a subscriber's licence key as described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a future version, the updated date above will reflect that. We will never introduce data collection without clearly disclosing it.
